Greetings in Christ
Mongolia International University (MIU) is a mission-oriented institute founded by Korean missionaries in Mongolia. The university is the only high educational institute in Mongolia whose language for teaching is English. About 40 percent of students are from neighboring countries such as the Siberian republics of Tuvas, Yakuts, and Buriats, Korea, Inner Mongolia, China, and other Central Asian countries. Missionary kids in Mongolia are also enrolled in the university.
MIU is a wonderful mission station to co-work with considering its diversity of the student body. Most foreign students come from the countries where Christian mission is officially forbidden. The vision of MIU is to invite students from un-reached ethnic groups and raise them as future leaders of their ethnic groups with gospel and Christian ethics.
It has four-year history and we had first graduates. Half of them became Christians while the rate of Christians was less than 3 percent when they first entered.
While MIU was operated mainly by Korean missionaries in its early stage, its administration sees the desperate need to internationalize the university in both administration and academic affairs.
MIU invites challenged and cooperation-minded Christians to its mission enterprise. They will be able to find great opportunities to work with and evangelize intelligent group of students of diverse ethnic origins and Mongolian staff.
